These are some of the pictures I took at Chaydon's 8th Birthday party. We had a wonderful time and were treated by a visit from a Zoo representative and many different animals that we were allowed to see and touch.

High Park, Toronto, ON is worth the drive to check out the beauty of spring. The Japanese Cherry Trees are glorious this time of year. All the pinkish white blossoms are in full bloom and stand out in contrast to the dark gnarly, knotted and twisted trucks and branches. It's the quantity and the age of the trees that make them stand out.
The cherry blossoms are not the only flowers in bloom in the park. There are some of the other flowers shown below. For the many other flowers I did not capture, the park kindly provided a large vase full of the park's fresh flowers, located by the Parkside St. entrance. Please enjoy the slideshow below. I will post the painting I started in the park later today or tomorrow.
Another show coming up. I will have 4 paintings entered in the show with 2 spaire paintings. I usually will attend the Opening and then the last 2 hours of the show.
Please Wish me good luck

This one is an oil pastel painting of Canada Geese in the Spring with their young gosslings.

Had a great day today.
Started with the Don Valley Art Club - Holiday Art Show 2012. I sat at the sales desk which is a great location to see visitors and fellow members viewing the show. Most members and friends will stop by the table and shat for a bit.
It;s very good show and is the only show that allows the purchaser to take the painting home right away. We had a choice of bringing in 2 smaller paintings with price tags between $100 and $250 or one larger painting at any price. I decided to put in a 48" wide painting of Canada Geese walking. A picture of the painting is below along with the show invitation.
After the show, I went to a Christmas get together and dinner at Mary-Jane's along with 9 other high school friends.. It was a wonderful evening. We had lasagne, salad and dessert, a gift exchange game and a lot of great conversations and nice memories.
When we first arrived at the boat launch, the Blue Heron seemed to be a statue. It stood at the end of the dock looking down into the water and did not move for quite a few minutes. He started moving after awhile, preening, flapping his wings and scratching but never moved from the end of the dock. There were many ducks that came to gather around him and entertain him and those around. Beautiful area that I will have to return to and do some painting,
