Window Painting4/26/2012 These are pictures of a window I have been working on with a friend. We are using Gallery Glass paints by Plaid. I created and applied the faux leading design based using a pattern of morning glories on their instructional video. Joy then used the paint and filled in the spaces with coloured paints. The paint dries semi transparent, giving it the illusion of stained glass.
A great way to decorate a window and obscure the view.

Hanging the Wash - steps of a painting4/23/2012 Photographs were taken of this paintings at different stages of progress. It was done in acrylics which is a great media for trying different things. What you don't want, you can change. Notice the appearance of a dog in front of the house then it was removed as it drew too much attention and did not add to the overall setting.
Larry at 504/22/2012 Trillium4/16/2012 This is a small oil pastel painting 8 x 11. I painted it from a photo I took on Manitoulin Island, spring. I seem to have a special love for spring flowers. Such colours and beauty as a cycle starts again.
High Park Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom4/14/2012 It was a beautiful afternoon in High Park, Toronto. The Cherry trees were all in full bloom and joy to your heart to see. The older trees with their knarled and twisted trunks and branches. Each tree is so unique yet all of them grouped together provide an amazing impression. It was crowded with people and difficult to find parking but worth the trip. Click on picture below to see slideshow of some of the pictures I took. THIS IS A PAINTING I DID FROM THE PICTURES I TOOK LAST MONDAY. IT WAS A GOOD OPPORTUNITY TO CATCH THE BLOSSOMS IN BUD AND OPEN BLOOM. OIL PASTEL 8 X 11 "CHERRY BLOSSOMS" Painted garden board.4/11/2012 These are pictures taken in sections to capture the full length of a board that was painted. Friends commissioned me to paint this board used cover some screw holes left after a gate was removed from the side of their house. I painted flowers found in their garden and also added a hummingbird and a chipmunk that visits frequently.
Post Title.4/9/2012 SAKURA TREES - Japanese Cherry Trees - I went to High Park today with Patty S. It was a beautiful day. Sunny and bright with cold gusty winds. The Cherry trees are about 75% in bloom. It was a good opportunity to find both buds and fully bloomed flowers to photograph. I think it will be prime time to see them in full bloom by Friday of this week. Here are some pictures I took. Happy Easter.4/8/2012 What a beautiful day out there. Seeing all the early blooms and buds on the trees had me thinking of all the wild flowers pictures I took on Manitoulin Island a while ago. It was a fun project looking for different wildflowers and wildlife. These are just of few of the many varieties to be found.
Post Title.4/4/2012 This was a fun project commissioned by a good friend of mine Jan. Jan found the old window, cleaned it up, restored the wood and I used "Gallery Glass" paints to complete this scenery. "Gallery Glass" paints dry to a gel like consistency and is an easy way to get a stained glass effect on glass.
It changes it look as the light changes during the day. Test Post4/2/2012 Don't you just love spring! The start of new cycles of nature. A good time to launch my website. It has been a long time since I have had a website up showing my paintings.
This painting was inspired by the many apple blossom trees in High Park, Toronto. According to the online High Park Forum, the trees are already budding. I plan to go to High Park with my camera, sometime this week, to hopefully capture the trees blossoming. Maybe some inspiration for a new painting. Carole RobitailleCAROLER'S ART DIARY Categories
