When we first arrived at the boat launch, the Blue Heron seemed to be a statue. It stood at the end of the dock looking down into the water and did not move for quite a few minutes. He started moving after awhile, preening, flapping his wings and scratching but never moved from the end of the dock. There were many ducks that came to gather around him and entertain him and those around. Beautiful area that I will have to return to and do some painting,
Mary Corelli's Art Show8/20/2012 A friend of mine from the Don Valley Art Club, Mary Tuck Corelli, has a solo artshow now at Todmorden Mills, Pottery Road, Toronto. Mary had many different and beautiful watercolour paintings on show. I particularly loved the houses and boat scenes from the east coast of Canada. It was a great show and there were quite a few fellow artists from the club also attending.
Mary is the lady shown below wearing a white hat. I went to a friend's grandson's 8th birthday party. For entertainment, they brought in "Zoo to you".
The girl from the zoo brought all sorts of small bins of different animals to show the kids. There were lizards, tree frog, alligator, turtle, chinchilla, hedgehog, ferrets, hooded dragon lizard, albino rabbit and the snake shown below. The girl would give a brief explanation of the animal, show it and then allow everyone the opportunity to touch them. A great idea for children - entertaining and educationsl.
