Chaydon's Special Birthday Guests8/10/2013 These are some of the pictures I took at Chaydon's 8th Birthday party. We had a wonderful time and were treated by a visit from a Zoo representative and many different animals that we were allowed to see and touch. "Ballerina Dance of Colours" by Carole Robitaille - DIgital Art
This is a digitally enhanced photo of young ballerinas performing in a dance recital. I isolated some of the ballerina images from the background, moved the images over in 3 layers. Also changed the colouring of dresses, made layers a bit transparent, enhanced the colour saturation, and finally added a watercolour filter. I loved the effect of the layers with the softness of the dancers in motion. Trip to Sault Ste Marie, On Part 16/6/2013 Last week I accompanied a friend of mine Jan B. on a trip to Sault Ste Marie to visit her son Geoff and grandson Lucas.
I was suffering from the shingles in almost half my head but enjoyed getting away and seeing all the beautiful scenery . Geoff took us out everyday for different tours of the town and surrounding area. Beautiful country. Thanks Jan and Geoff. I will be adding more photos every day until I finish posting a selection of photos I took. High Park, Toronto, ON is worth the drive to check out the beauty of spring. The Japanese Cherry Trees are glorious this time of year. All the pinkish white blossoms are in full bloom and stand out in contrast to the dark gnarly, knotted and twisted trucks and branches. It's the quantity and the age of the trees that make them stand out. The cherry blossoms are not the only flowers in bloom in the park. There are some of the other flowers shown below. For the many other flowers I did not capture, the park kindly provided a large vase full of the park's fresh flowers, located by the Parkside St. entrance. Please enjoy the slideshow below. I will post the painting I started in the park later today or tomorrow. Click once on image below to enlarge and allow you to click easily to each image.
Fellow artist shown in images have permission to save a copy for themselves. Caroler It was a fantastic day today. Started off by watching my great niece, Alysha, perform her first competitive solo dance performance. I was very proud of her and her performance. Then I went to the Art Guild of Scarborough Spring Show (details below) where I was presented with an award for my painting "Trilliums of Trail's End" gouache Then a good friend, Pat Vicari, purchased the painting. It was also wonderful to see so many friends and members from the Don Valley Art Club showing up at the show. From there I went with my friends Patty and Linda to see the musical "Rock of Ages" at the Sony Centre. A very lively and uplifting show. After the show, we went across the road to Fran's for supper Carole RobitailleCAROLER'S ART DIARY Categories
