So I turned most back to green and simplified the background shapes. Later I added a thick bodied pale yellow to the front leaves to give more punch and texture. Many other changes, esp. in water. I struggled with how the reflections and shadows should appear and the movement of the water. My sister Claudette came by and suggested more darkness in the water and more rocks and stepping stones along the shore. Big improvement. Looked much more natural and the water came more to life.
So its a good reminder that there will always be a lot of changes before things get better and we need some of the darks and rocks along the way to bring out the beauty in life.
